  • Requiring no client side code UpFilesBE ver 1.1, exclusively designed for ASP.NET ver 2.x, operates only on the Web Server and handles the standard RFC 1867 multipart HTML forms data including that of the uploaded files.

  • UpFilesBEModule, an ASP.NET HTTPModule, included with UpFilesBE ver 1.1 , intercepts the incoming upload requests allowing virtually unlimited file sizes to upload.

  • expanData.net.dll, a .NET assembly, includes a Progress Monitoring Module allowing the display of a Pure HTML Progress bar as well as a newer AJAX-based WebControl Progress Indicator. The Progress Module is fully Web Farm enabled. It uses an SQL Server database with all the functionality built into the code with absolutely no extra programming required. All things needed for the Web Farm support are built into the code for the Module.

  • All classes contained in the UpFilesBE ver 1.1 .NET assembly offer a seamless interoperation with the standard ASP.NET Request classes. Supplementing the standard .NET Request classes, UpFilesBE ver 1.1 provides an advanced level of control over the upload process.

  • Other features include Uploading to a database.

UpFilesBE V 1.1 Features

 

Leveraging the power of .NET 100% Managed Code, UpFilesBE ver 1.1 is a minor update of our popular UpFilesBE ver 1.0 product. It is aimed at productivity and richness in features.

Among some of its advanced features are:

  1. Progress indication: UpFilesBE includes, under ASP.NET, progress indication. Upload size and duration can be precisely monitored. Two Server-side Progress Indicator options (Pure HTML and AJAX-based progress bars) lets the clients monitor the progress of an upload without the client side code.

  2. Unlimited size: Upload virtually unlimited size files with ASP.NET.

  3. Efficient data caching: During large file transfers an efficient data caching consumes minimum available memory resources.

  4. Unicode for filename/form

  5. Supports foreign character sets, including file names.

  6. Simplified error: handling and data integrity when uploading multiple files.

  7. Fix corrupted upload streams in international versions of IE.

  8. Database uploads: UpFilesBE includes, under ASP.NET, database uploads which can be precisely fine tuned for speed.

  9. Unique file names: UpFilesBE ver 1.1 is, by default, set to create unique file names for uploads. This allows avoiding the risk of replacing old files with the same names.

  10. Access to the Progress Log Database: The SQL Server Log Database in our new version is, by default, available to and under the control of developers for the purpose of progress log debugging and/or analysis.

  11. Progress bar in a Web Farm: UpFilesBE Progress Logging and display is fully Web Farm enabled. Our newest version uses an SQL Server Database. It requires no extra programming. Just select a common SQL Server System in your enterprise, accessible from all the participating Web Servers of the Web Farm, and you have Progress bar integrated into your Web Farm.
